Dave Fromer’s Marin Soccer Camp LLC is the longest running soccer camp in Marin County. This summer marks our 30th year of providing exciting and fun-filled soccer training for young soccer players of all levels, from beginners through advanced. Our dynamic program emphasizes skill development in a positive and enjoyable learning environment.

Our staff excels in working with players of all levels and ages (5-14). We are pleased to bring you an outstanding roster of coaches, some of the best in Northern California. They are dedicated to providing a terrific camp experience this summer!


Summer Camps 2012

  • San Francisco (Moscone Rec Ctr, Chestnut St): August 6-10 (tent.) 
  • Mill Valley: June 25-29, July 16-20, July 23-27, Aug 6-10, Aug 20-24 (all camps at Friends' Field) (TBD: swim. may not be avail 8/20-24)
  • Corte Madera: June 18-22, Aug 13-17
  • San Anselmo: June 25-29 (Memorial Park), July 9-13 (Mem. Pk.) , Aug 6-10 (Redhill Field)
  • Marinwood: TBD
  • Lake Tahoe: July 23-27, Aug 13-17

All levels welcome, beginning through advanced. For boys and girls 5-13 years.

Goal Keeper/Striker Camps

Goalkeeper/Striker Camp with Coaches Mark Mackbee and Lewis Usher-
for 8 -11 years- 9:30 - 12:00

 The Striker camp will train the players in all facets of attacking, creating scoring chances and goal-scoring.

The Goalkeeper camp will train the players in all the techniques and tactics to build skill and confidence in goalkeeping.

For part of each daily session the groups will combine to provide game-like situations and to maximize their learning potential and fun!

Senior Camp

TBD, Corte Madera Town Park

Senior Camp for 12-14 years- 1:00 - 3:30

Director/Head Coach: Mark Mackbee, NCAA Div. 1 Champion, European professional player, and 2 time high school MCAL & NCS Championship coach

Asst.Director/Coach: Lewis Usher, From Belize, Lewis is a skillful player and an enthusiastic and dynamic coach in his 17th year at Marin Soccer Camps; popular Mill Valley sports instructor and team trainer.

Marin Soccer Camp's Senior Camp is for all 12-14 year olds who love soccer, are self-motivated and eager to learn, and want to push themselves to play at a higher level. Come train with other dedicated players and get ready for the fall season! This camp will focus on skill and tactical development, while challenging the mental and physical approach to the game. Players will be challenged to play faster, harder, and with a greater soccer IQ.

Camp sessions will be broken into segments such as "1000 Touches," "Serious Scrimmages," and "Smart Soccer Talks." Each player will be challenged at his or her individual level and ability. Take-home drills and lessons in game concepts will be provided for campers to aid in their future development. There will also be video feedback for campers to see their game up close and personal.

Days & Times


  •   Sessions run Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 3 PM. (Goalkeeper/Striker camps run 9:30 -12; Senior camps run 1-3:30.)
 

Camp Fees

  • Early Bird Registration Special!  Campers registered by April 15, 2012 receive a $25 credit voucher for an additional 2012 summer camp session!
  • Registration: $290 per week/ $280 per each additional sibling
  • On-site registration: $315 per week/$305 per each additional sibling
  • Senior Camp or Goalkeeper/Striker Camp : $180 in advance, $195 on-site.
  • Extended supervision, from 3-6 p.m., is available ONLY at San Anselmo or Marinwood camps (arrange independently with SA Rec or MW Rec.**

Lake Tahoe Camp Fees:

  • Registration: $270 per week/ $260 per each additional sibling
  • On-site registration: $295 per week/$285 per each additional sibling

**Extended Supervision Information:

  • Before camp 8:30 - 9am: available at all sites, no fee.
  • **After camp care 3 - 6pm available in Marinwood through the Marinwood Community Center; register by calling 479-0775 or go to www.marinwood.org.  In San Anselmo, through SA Rec Dept; call 258-4640.
  • No extended care is available in Mill Valley, Corte Madera, San Francisco, or Lake Tahoe.

Refund Policy

There is a $50 per child administrative charge for all refunds. Requests for refunds must be submitted in writing by email or mail. To receive a refund of camp fees, minus the $50 administrative fee, the request for a refund must be received by 5 PM the Friday prior to the beginning of the camp session for which the child is registered. All other refunds will be in the form of a credit voucher (with no expiration date) which may be used for any of our programs. You must have this voucher (hard copy, original only) to use credit; please email or call to obtain one.

General Camp Info

Campers are initially grouped according to age and experience level. Requests to be with friends, if in appropriate age groups, are always honored. Campers demonstrating the need for a more challenging curriculum may be offered the option of moving to a different group. Campers should bring a hearty lunch and snack, sunscreen, and a water bottle. (Water is always available for refills at the camp site.) Wear cleats, shinguards, and long socks (not required but highly recommended). Please label personal items including jackets, backpacks, etc. Please do not bring personal items such as collectibles (cards, toys), audio equipment such as iPods, cell phones, etc. to camp. We cannot be responsible for these items.

Each session features an enjoyable and challenging combination of
fitness, ball skills, and tactical learning.

  • dribbling

  • passing & controlling the ball
  • shooting & scoring
  • set plays - throw-ins, free kicks, etc. 
  • personal (one-on-one) defense
  • team defense and zonal play
  • field positions (specialized skills)
  • goalkeeping

  • effective movement “off the ball”
  • awareness & first touch
  • rules of the game
  • tactical systems
